WHO WE ARE
The door and window-frame company HOLZ was founded in 1988 and operates in the field of the construction and commercial supply of interior and exterior doors and windows, bedroom furniture (cupboards) and kitchen furniture. In 1993 the company developed new standards of construction of wooden doors and windows according to German specifications.
The company comprises privately-owned facilities in Episkopi in Agyia, Chania County, equipped with modern machinery, as well as a showroom in Chania town.
Our company policy hinges on a clear understanding of the needs and expectations of our clients and a commitment as far as possible to guaranteeing their satisfaction. For this reason, after-sales support is part of our customer service.
Alongside this, we take care to offer the highest quality at the lowest possible cost, through a process of continuous improvement in methods of survey, raw material supply and construction.
We are constantly updating our knowledge on technological developments in wooden door and window frame design and exclusively use raw materials that have been checked and certified.
HOLZ imports compound (three-ply) Meranti wood, which has passed through special processes and drying procedures so that the final product has a relative moisture of 12%. As a result, the warping of wooden constructions is prevented, as well as the problem of varnish peeling. In this particular case, varnish impregnates the wood to a depth of one millimetre.
The varnishes and lacquers used are water-based, with a six-year guarantee. There is a wide variety of natural colours available, as well as the entire RAL colour range. The application process, along with the raw materials, guarantees full protection against ultraviolet radiation.
The fittings that are employed lock around the frames for greater security, and withstand particularly harsh environmental conditions such as sea-salt spray etc. At the same time, they afford us the ability to design many and composite structures.
The door and windows have a double rubber seal for perfect water-tightness, European-standard double glazing, and anodized aluminium guttering. Available choices include the installation of triple-paned glass for greater energy conservation as well as correspondingly greater sound insulation.
Wood, having unlimited potential for use, is considered the preferred construction material. Additionally, as a natural product and widely available, it is a renewable resource, and given correct and appropriate handling procedures offers no threat to the environment whatsoever. Wood offers its own unique advantages.
